Fue hace 32 a\u00f1os, un 8 de septiembre de 1990, la tenista argentina Gabriela Sabatini, se consagraba en el Abierto de los Estados Unidos, el famoso US Open, su primer y \u00fanico t\u00edtulo de Grand Slam, al vencer en la final a la alemana Steffi Graf por 6-2 y 7-6 (7-4 en tie break). \u201cGaby\u201d se convert\u00eda as\u00ed en la mejor tenista argentina de todos los tiempos y la \u00fanica en ganar Grand Slam.<\/p>\n
Destacada como una de las grandes leyendas del deporte, Gabriela Sabatini se coron\u00f3 cuatro veces del Abierto de Roma y alcanz\u00f3 el tercer puesto del ranking mundial de la WTA durante 149 semanas en 1989. De los 213 torneos que disput\u00f3, se impuso en 39 ocasiones. Gan\u00f3 un total de 632 partidos y perdi\u00f3 189. Desde 1987 se posicion\u00f3 entre las diez primeras del ranking mundial. Obtuvo su \u00faltimo t\u00edtulo profesional el 20 de noviembre de 1994 cuando conquist\u00f3 su 26\u00b0 t\u00edtulo en el Masters femenino disputado en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York.<\/p>\n
